Disgruntled football fans are calling out Fox Sports announcers Joe Davis and Greg Olsen for what they thought was a classless move during Sunday afternoon’s Los Angeles Rams-Philadelphia Eagles game.
Joe Davis and Greg Olsen, Fox Sports’ No. 2 team, were assigned to the highly anticipated showdown between two NFC heavyweights. Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady, who replaced Olsen on the No. 1 team, are calling the Chicago Bears-Dallas Cowboys game at Soldier Field.
Though the Eagles pulled out a thrilling 33-26 comeback win, the victory came at a cost. Superstar offensive tackle Lane Johnson left the game with a neck injury and did not return, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Some viewers, however, were unsatisfied with Joe Davis and Greg Olsen refusing to acknowledge Lane Johnson’s injury. (WARNING: Language includes messages that are NSFW).
“Broadcast was so obsessed with the tush push they completely missed the Lane Johnson injury which is the biggest thing by FAR not only in this game, but the entire Eagles season,” a fan wrote.
“So Lane Johnson gets hurt and not a peep about it because all the NFL and broadcasters care about is the fucking tush push. @NFL Do. Fucking. Better,” wrote another.
“did i miss a lane johnson injury update from the broadcast or do they not care,” said a user.
“All Greg Olsen talking about is the tush push. Dude won’t stop. So freakin annoying,” said another.
“Who is the booth ref for this broadcast? They’re all so butt-hurt that the tush push makes it hard to officiate a game. Trust me, guys, ya can’t do much worse,” a fan wrote.
The Eagles scored 26 unanswered points to stun Sean McVay’s Rams and improve to 3-0 on the season. Philly’s fans spent much of the first three quarters booing the performance on offense, but the defending champs prevailed.
