United States President Donald Trump has been credited with saving the Ryder Cup following the prestigious golf tournament kicking off in Long Island this week.

According to the White House, the event would not have taken place had it not been for the efforts.

The biennial competition pits the best golfers from America against the best golfers from Europe and is now underway at the iconic Bethpage Black, a venue golf WAGS have been urged to stay away from.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt made a statement on Tuesday claiming that, had it not been for the POTUS, the Cup would not tee off.

How Did Donald Trump Save The Ryder Cup?

Trump signed an executive order this month that prevented employees of the Long Island Rail Road from going on strike, agreeing to form an emergency committee to review the dispute between their union and the LIRR and averting industrial action… at least for now.

“This event is one of the greatest sporting events in the world and it would not be taking place this year without President Trump’s help,” Leavitt said.

“President Trump signed an executive order last week preventing a strike that would have crippled the New York City area ahead of the tournament and at the request of the five labor unions who all represent workers on the Long Island Rail Road.”

Leavitt also cited a quote from Bryson DeChambeau in which the star golfer praised Donald Trump’s leadership and attributed the Ryder Cup being played to him.

Trump, who was trending after cameras caught him speaking to ally-turned-foe Elon Musk at Charlie Kirk’s memorial, has already taken plenty of heat over the claim, as folks don’t quite buy that he’s responsible for having the tournament move forward despite the above.

He is expected to be in attendance on Friday.
