Olympic commentators found themselves tongue-tied after French pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati saw his package sabotage his progression on Saturday.
The Frenchman appeared to have cleared the bar well enough, but he was unfortunate that the bulge in his tights got stuck on his way down, pulling the bar down with him.
The commentators were puzzled as to what happened, given that Ammirati didn’t have any difficulty getting over. They found out along with everyone else on the replay and then handed their tongues to the cat.
“What happened here?” the play-by-play commentator asked.
“On the way down…” the color commentator began, unsure what to say thereafter.
“Ohhh,” was all the play-by-play commentator could manage.
Anthony Ammirati failed the bar and the commentators are clearly having a hard time acknowledging what happened 😂 HELP I’M DYING pic.twitter.com/5hOHttVA5g

Anthony Ammirati Was The Talk Of Social Media After Bizarre Failed Attempt
While very unfortunate for Anthony Ammirati, social media got a real kick out of his mishap. After all, it’s not every day you see a man’s shaft prevent him from qualifying for an Olympic event.
“There’s nothing left for this guy to come live for an interview Anthony Ammirati has gone viral at the Paris 2024 Olympics after failing to reach his target height because his manhood caught the bar,” one user quipped.
“I am sure he will be compensated at the Olympic Village,” another joked.
“Not the worse thing in the World losing a Gold Medal in the #Olympics because you’re packing a French Baguette 🤣😂😂 Anthony Ammirati you sir won at life,” someone else wrote.
“Imagine losing Olympics cus you have huge d*ck 😭,” a user lamented.
“His meat cost him the Gold but it will keep him paid after the Olympics. Anthony Ammirati’s Instagram is going OFF,” someone pointed out.
While his smaller pole cost him qualification, Ammirati appears to have gained respect for something completely unexpected and is quite possibly the most famous pole vaulter in the world at the moment.
