The Arizona Cardinals have caused a stir online with their latest end zone design.
The Cards are scheduled to play the Seattle Seahawks on this week’s iteration of ‘Thursday Night Football’ and have gone with a bold end zone inspired by the city.
Both teams are headed into the Week 4 clash with 2-1 records, which should make for an enjoyable outing. Arizona, the host of tonight’s game, painted its end zones in shades of red, copper, and white to match its new “Rivalries” uniforms following a curious end zone decision taken by the league ahead of the new term.
The team gave fans a field preview via a viral Instagram post.
The design is meant to replicate the Arizona state flag and features the red and yellow sun rays with a copper gradient.

The end zones generated plenty of comments from fans after being shared on X, many of whom have compared the design to that of the Japanese flag.
“Looks like imperial Japan sun,” one observed.
“Looks like the Japanese flag,” said another.
“It’s giving imperial japan vibes,” wrote a third.
One fan thought it looked more like the Macedonian flag.
“Why a Macedonia flag 😂,” they commented.
Arizona Cardinals To Debut New One-Time Threads For Their Home Clash Against The Seattle Seahawks On Thursday Night
As mentioned above, the Cardinals are debuting their “Rivalries” uniform against Seattle tonight. They will be dressed in white-on-white threads bearing copper accents. The Arizona flag design will also be on the jersey sleeves.
The uniforms will be worn just once this season.
The Cardinals collaborated with local artists and fans to create the uniform design, which they hope will reflect the city’s pride.
They will also hope to go 3-1 by the end of the home affair, following wins against the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers, and a loss to the San Francisco 49ers, in which they lost running back James Conner for the remainder of the season.
