Transportation from Bethpage Black for this year’s Ryder Cup is insanely pricey, as fans have found out, following reports of an annoying complaint.
The tournament has been great to watch, especially if you’re European, but spectators have discovered that Uber is probably not the best option for getting out of the Long Island venue.
Golf influencer Cailyn Henderson exposed the ridiculous prices Uber charged people looking for a ride out on Friday.
Wherever she was trying to get the Uber from ran the cost to $440, which was the cheapest option, Uber X Priority.
The most expensive one was $1,077.
Cailyn Henderson Exposed Uber’s “Criminal” Ryder Cup Rates
Henderson, who detailed her Ryder Cup journey, disclosed that she and a friend opted for a shuttle and then got an Uber. “That took us a total of an hour and a half to get out. I am feeling faint,” she said via Instagram.
Her post went viral on social media and attracted comments, as users suggested the pricing was “criminal.”
“How is that legal wow,” someone asked.
“This is criminal @uber,” another declared.
Team Europe ended Friday in the lead, which must have come as a disappointment for Henderson.
As of Saturday, they lead 11.5 to 4.5 heading into Sunday’s singles matches, needing just 2.5 points from the 12 matches to retain the cup.
Team USA needs 10 wins from the 12 singles matches to come out on top, something which has never been done in the tournament’s history.
