The Jaxson Dart era is underway in New York. It got off to a very positive start, with the rookie quarterback leading the Giants to their first win of the season against the previously unbeaten L.A. Chargers.

Dart fired NY to a 21-18 victory despite the team losing Malik Nabers, likely for the remainder of 2025, as he is believed to have torn his Achilles.

The former Ole Miss star replaced Russell Wilson, who was benched after the G-Men lost their third straight game, and got down to business right away.

He began the game with an 89-yard drive that included nine plays and was capped by a 15-yard rushing touchdown.

Speaking to reporters after the game, the 22-year-old QB gave Wilson a shoutout.

“I want to give a big shoutout to Russ, I know this week probably wasn’t the easiest thing but he handled it like a professional,” he said.

Did Jaxson Dart Take A Shot At Russell Wilson?

Some fans felt it was a shot at the veteran signal caller and not so much a compliment.

“Honestly this is way worse than just saying nothing at all lmfao. “Big shoutout to my girls ex, he took it like a champ when he found out she was bouncing on my d**k. Really classy guy”,” one wrote.

“this what you say when you take somebody job 😂,” another offered.

“Dude is 22 years old and treating Russ like lil bro. Yeah he’s him,” a fan claimed.

Jaxson Dart completed 13 of his 20 attempts on his Giants debut, throwing for 111 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for 54 yards and another score.

While he was sacked five times, the rookie took the game to the Chargers, battling for extra yards and refusing to slide on his runs.
