Philadelphia Eagles Will Reportedly Trade Superstar WR A.J. Brown

Something is not going well in Philadelphia. The Eagles might still be one of the NFL’s better teams, but the energy around the locker room isn’t the same. AJ Brown, the team’s emotional heartbeat and superstar wide receiver, appears to be done with the team, at least the latest instance suggests that.

After back-to-back losses, the tension hit a new level. Brown, Jalen Hurts, and Saquon Barkley reportedly held a “players meeting,” though everyone involved claimed it wasn’t anything formal. Still, people around the league aren’t buying the calm talk. According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, front offices are keeping a close eye on the situation, sensing a possible storm ahead.

Russini wrote “The Eagles will continue to insist they have no plans to trade Brown, their star receiver,” but even she admitted that “every week that passes with problems piling up makes decision-makers around the league wonder.”

One AFC GM didn’t mince words either, telling The Athletic“I think Howie (Roseman) moves him. It would have to be for the right player or pick, but (a trade) wouldn’t surprise me. Howie likes deals, especially if a player’s value overrides how Brown is being used.”

Trade Buzz Is Getting Louder Around AJ Brown

Here’s the thing, Brown’s numbers aren’t terrible, but his body language screams something else. Two big games aside, he’s been unusually quiet on the field and even quieter off it. “Brown doesn’t look frustrated or mad – he looks indifferent,” the AFC GM added. “And that’s not a good place to be.”

When players of Brown’s caliber stop showing emotion, that’s when things start to break. The Eagles know his value. They won’t let him go for a second or third-round pick. It would take a monster offer, multiple top picks or a star defensive player to make GM Howie Roseman even blink.

Teams are noticing all these, and trade talk is also going on for sure. One idea even suggests the Bills could land Brown, making them Super Bowl favorites.

Russini said most teams expect Philadelphia’s asking price to be steep, but interest will rise as the trade deadline nears in November. For now, the Eagles say Brown isn’t going anywhere. But in the NFL, “never” usually just means “not yet.”
