A helicopter crash near Huntington Beach, California, left five people hospitalized on Saturday after the aircraft spun out of control and went down near homes and buildings.
The incident was reported just after 2:00 PM near the Cars ‘N Copters on the Coast venue, with the crash taking place along Pacific Coast Highway. The chopper went down right in front of the Waterfront Beach Resort.

The crash follows multiple tragic aviation mishaps this year alone, including one involving a chopper that went down into the Hudson River and killed six people in April.
No One Killed In Huntington Beach Helicopter Crash
A Huntington Beach police spokesperson said the two people who were on board made it out, while three people were injured on the street. They were all transported to the hospital for treatment; no one was killed.
Eyewitnesses said they saw the rotor fly off the tail moments before the helicopter hit a bridge walkway in front of the hotel.
“[Emergency crews] took the pilot out and they gave a thumbs up, so I think he’s in okay shape,” one witness, Darrell Hallett, said.
“The police were telling us to move because they thought it was going to explode,” Greyson Hallett added.
The helicopter, a rare Bell 222, was made famous by the popular 1980s show ‘Airwolf’. It was supposed to be part of the Cars ‘N Copters event scheduled for today.
