Quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a gruesome injury in Sunday night’s Commanders loss to the Seahawks.
Daniels suffered an injury to his left arm and left the game in the fourth quarter. The Commanders’ QB was scrambling when he was sacked, and his left elbow bent in a position where arms are not supposed to go.
Daniels had a black air cast on the arm as he walked to the locker room.
Him being injured has been a reoccuring theme of his 2025 season. This is the third injury Daniels has suffered this year. The former LSU star missed two games with a sprained knee and one with an injured hamstring, which was his latest one that he had just returned from.
Despite how his injury appears, the news is not all bad.
Jayden Daniels Gets Good News
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a gruesome arm injury during Sunday Night Football.
Daniels dislocated his left elbow, ESPN reported. Dislocations can also cause damage to the surrounding bones and tissues, including those around the elbow.
However, not all is bad.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport wrote on X Monday morning that Daniels will “miss several games,” but the “belief is” the injury is “not as bad as it could’ve been.”
He will undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm the diagnosis and determine the anticipated length of his recovery.
Jayden Daniels, who was named Offensive Rookie of the Year last season, threw for 153 yards, rushed for 51 yards, threw an interception, and ran for a touchdown in the Commanders’ 38-14 loss to the Seahawks.
The Commanders are 3-6, so even if he could return, it would be unwise to put him back on the field. Daniels is expected to be sidelined indefinitely, but it’s unclear if he is out for the rest of the season.
