Horrifying New Footage Shows The Moment Greg Biffle’s Plane Burst Into Flames During Fatal Crash That Killed His Family [VIDEO]

Greg Biffle and his immediate family were killed after a plane crashed on Thursday. The Cessna C550 crashed while landing at Statesville Regional Airport in Iredell County. Biffle, his wife, and two kids were all on board his plane when it crashed.

“Unfortunately, I can confirm Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina, daughter Emma, and son Ryder were on that plane,” Garrett Mitchell wrote via Facebook on Thursday. He knew that “because they were on their way to spend the afternoon with us.”

“We are devastated. I’m so sorry to share this,” he finished.

The families also said three other people were killed in the incident. That plane was bound for Florida. However, it attempted to return to the Statesville Regional Airport after takeoff. There was reportedly severe weather at the time.

In the hours since the accident, footage has surfaced. You can now see the moment when Greg Biffle’s plane landed on the tarmac. However, it was already fully engulfed in flames as it skidded down the tarmac. There was zero chance of survival.

What Happened That led to Greg Biffle and His Family’s Death

A plane linked to former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle crashed. The plane departed from Statesville at 10:06 a.m. local time. It then appears to have attempted to turn around before the crash. Something bad went terribly wrong in the sky.

Seven people in total were killed in the plane crash. In a press conference on Thursday, officials stated that they were still unsure of the cause of the crash.

Cloud height and visibility had worsened right around the time of the plane’s takeoff. Twenty minutes later, visibility further decreased. Flight records indicate that the airplane never rose higher than approximately 1,000 feet above the ground.

It will take six months to a year to get the full answer to what happened that led to this tragedy.

Greg Biffle would have turned 56 next week. NASCAR credits him as one of its greatest drivers. Biffle was much more than his sport. Biffle was also instrumental in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina.
