Passenger’s Chilling ‘Emergency’ Text Message Revealed by NTSB in Fatal Greg Biffle Plane Crash Probe

One person on doomed Greg Biffle plane sent a chilling text message befor it crashed.

A text message was sent amidst the fatal North Carolina plane crash that killed Greg Biffle. It suggests the aircraft may have attempted to return to Statesville Regional Airport minutes after takeoff.

A person aboard the plane texted “emergency landing” to a family member. It came moments before it went down. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) held a press conference on Saturday. They discussed the plane crash that killed all seven passengers aboard. NTSB board member Michael Graham confirmed that the exact cause of the crash remains unknown.

“We do not know the circumstances that led the aircraft to attempt to return to the airport. But that is the focus of our investigation,” he began.

Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina, daughter Emma, and son Ryder were killed. Dennis, Jack Dutton, and Craig Wadsworth also perished in the wreck.

“I can confirm that the NTSB is aware of one brief text from a passenger on board the aircraft to a family member that read and I quote ’emergency landing,’” NTSB Board Member Michael Graham said at a news conference on Saturday.

Greg Biffle’s Wife Sent Final Text Message

The official did not say who sent or received the text message. Cristina Grossu Biffle’s mother, Cathy, spoke to PEOPLE after the plane crash. She spoke about the last thing she heard from her daughter. She texted her, “We’re in trouble,” before dying alongside Greg Biffle. Cathy said she’s “devastated” and “brokenhearted.”

In the aftermath, released footage from the area showed the plane sliding across the tarmac on fire.

The plane had only just taken off from the airport. It soon made an abrupt 180-degree turn and headed back. Unfortunately, it never had a chance of landing, so nobody could survive. Biffle, his family, and three others all died when the Cessna C550 jet. The aircraft crashed at about 10:15 a.m. while trying to land on another runway.

No mayday call was issued by the aircraft. After impact, a fire consumed the majority of the aircraft. It was a tragic event that nobody could’ve foreseen.
