There’s no confusion over where he stands.
Venezuelan golfer Jhonattan Vegas has offered a curious reaction to Donald Trump’s capture of Nicolas Maduro.
Trump and the U.S. military went after the Venezuelan leader on Saturday morning, launching multiple strikes. They left with Maduro and his wife as part of a feat in which Nike is thought to be the real winner.
His arrest has sparked celebrations in Venezuela. And Vegas, who represented his country at two Olympic Games, was among those who were in a jubilant mood after news of Maduro’s extraction.
He took to Twitter, formerly known as X, with a post bearing several Venezuelan flags.
“Viva Venezuela CARAJOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,” he wrote in another post, adding more flags.
The second tweet translates to, “Long live Venezuela, DAMN IT ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.”
Jhonattan Vegas Is A Known Supporter Of The Opposition
Vegas is a known supporter of Venezuela’s opposition leader, Maria Corina Machado.
He shares a post of himself meeting her last month, writing, “Thank you @MariaCorinaYA for your courage and sacrifice for our great country.”
“It’s always an inspiration to see how you fight for our country, and I’m sure you’ll be the leader who will transform Venezuela into the country we all dream of,” he added.
Meanwhile, Maduro has been hit with drugs and weapons charges. He will stand trial in New York.
Trump alleges that Maduro is the leader of the drug trafficking group, Cartel de los Soles. He stands accused of flooding the U.S. with drugs.
