Liam Coen handled the Jaguars’ gut-wrenching loss like a pro.
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen and reporter Lynn Jones had a wholesome exchange after the club’s gut-wrenching loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
The Jaguars fell 27-24 to the Bills in a thrilling back-and-forth shootout at EverBank Stadium. Jacksonville’s dream season ended when Trevor Lawrence’s late pass to Jakobi Meyers was tipped and intercepted by Cole Bishop.
It certainly wasn’t the ending that Liam Coen’s squad wanted. But considering where this team was a year ago, the 2025 season can only be considered a success in Duval County.
And during Coen’s post-game press conference, Lynn Jones was sure to congratulate an emotional rookie head coach on his first season.
Jones is a reporter for the Jacksonville Free Press, per The Sporting News.
Jacksonville finished 4-13 a season ago, a major drop after back-to-back 9-win seasons. Coen came in and led them to a 13-4 finish, their best record since the 1999 squad that went 14-2.
Considering the Jags were this-close to beating Buffalo without two-way phenom Travis Hunter? There’s no telling how much better this team will get under Coen.
