The Dallas Cowboys rushing attack is still up in the air with who they have on the roster, which is likely to be headed by the return of Ezekiel Elliott.
The Cowboys “running backs by committee” also include Royce Freeman, Rico Dowdle, Malik Davis, Deuce Vaughn and Hunter Luepke.
Things are not looking well for the team, and Ezekiel Elliott, just based on one play from training camp.
Footage from a recent practice showed the Dallas Cowboys handing the ball off to Ezekiel Elliott as he ran to the right side for a potentially huge gain.
Unfortunately, Zeke never made it out of the backfield. He cut to go further outside and down to the ground.

To be completely fair, Ezekiel Elliott certainly tripped over an offensive lineman’s foot, which caused him to go down, but he wasn’t looking too great before that.
Many Cowboys fans took to social media and blasted the aging running back for looking like a shell of his former self.
man looks like he’s running through mud, cooked

See what I say huh🤣🤦🏻♂️ get ready for Zeke to get a total of a good 2-4 yards when he’s out on the field

Ferguson got beat, trips up Zeke. Wish he wasn’t trying to bounce outside though.

Last season with the Patriots, Elliott finished the year with 642 yards and three touchdowns on 184 carries, all career lows, per ESPN.
There Is Absolutely Nothing Certain About The Dallas Cowboys Running Back Room And Returning Veteran Ezekiel Elliott
The battle for roster spots is ongoing at every training camp, and there is no shortage of competition in the Dallas Cowboys camp so far.
Not every running back at camp is going to make the team, but nobody expects the Dallas Cowboys to part ways with Ezekiel Elliott.
With Tony Pollard’s departure this offseason, the Cowboys’ rushing attack has lost explosiveness and speed. It has been replaced with a lack of experience and a former all-pro RB who has lost several steps.
Zeke might have the experience, but he will certainly not be the workhorse running back that he used to be.
