The Kansas City Chiefs are locking up Harrison Butker for the foreseeable future.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Chiefs and Butker agreed to a four-year, $25.6 million extension that includes $17.75 million guaranteed.
The new deal makes Butker the highest paid kicker in NFL history, giving him the edge over Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker and Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott.
Harrison Butker had one year remaining on the five-year, $20.3 million deal that he signed in 2019 that was scheduled to pay him $3.945 million this season. Now he adds on four more years to become the highest-paid kicker in NFL history. https://t.co/EMMxvwmLrd

The 29-year-old Butker has been a core piece of the Chiefs dynasty since he was drafted out of Georgia Tech in 2017. He’s made 94% of his extra points and 89% of his field goals across his NFL career. Last year, Butker nailed all 38 of his extra points while missing just two field goals.
While he has been Kansas City’s field goal specialist for all of its recent Super Bowls, he had perhaps the best postseason of his career last year. He made all 11 of his field goals across the Chiefs’ four playoff games and was perfect on his eight extra-point attempts.
He accounted for 13 points on four field goals and an extra point in Kansas City’s Super Bowl win over the San Francisco 49ers.
