Khelif, who recently admitted that her family was worried about her, has filed a complaint with the anti-hate online center of the Paris prosecutor’s office in the hopes of discovering where the online harassment started and possibly filing legal proceedings.
That is according to attorney Nabil Boudi
“Just won a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, boxer Imane Khelif decided to lead a new fight: that of justice, dignity and honor,” a translation shared by writer Michael East reads. “Mrs. Khelif referred the matter to the firm, which filed a complaint yesterday for cyber harassment aggravated with the anti-hate center of the Paris prosecutor’s office.
“The criminal investigation will determine who was at the initiative of this misogynistic, racist and sexist campaign but will also have to be interested in those who have fueled this digital lynching.”

Imane Khelif Came Under heavy Criticism After her First Opponent Withdrew In Under A Minute
The XY chromosomes claim kicked off online after Italian boxer Angela Carini abandoned a match against Imane Khelif after just 46 seconds, citing unfairness at having fought a male competitor. It was later revealed that the Algerian was banned from the 2023 World Championships for failing a gender test.
Imane Khelif is understood to have been born and raised female and wouldn’t have been able to represent Algeria as a transgender.
It appears she’s ready to take her accusers to task.
