The 2024 Olympics has turned many viewers away due to its distasteful opening ceremony in the last week of July, but the closing ceremony in Paris was a different story.
To close out the 2024 Paris Olympics, actor Tom Cruise performed an epic stunt that has the internet buzzing.
Cruise began the stunt by jumping off the Stade de France roof and landing inside the stadium, where he was met with fans and Olympic athletes.
Cruise then took the Olympic flag and placed it on the back of a motorcycle, which he then drove away on.
The actor’s stunt is a preview of what will happen when Los Angeles hosts the Olympics in 2028.

Tom Cruise brought some movie magic to the 2024 Paris Olympics closing ceremony.
The action star, who’s currently filming Mission: Impossible 8, executed the much buzzed-about “epic stunt” on Aug. 11. It began with him rappelling from the Stade de France roof and ended, in a prerecorded portion, with him on the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles, where the 2028 Summer Olympics will take place.
The stunt took a year and a half of planning, executive producer and creative director Ben Winston of Fulwell 73 Productions told Vogue. He said “the secrecy was tricky,” and there were multiple “leaks.” In March, video of Cruise, 62, was captured by paparazzi as he climbed the Hollywood sign to film that portion.
Cruise would later post a selfie:

Per USA Today:
The Olympics closing ceremonies have always served as a nice sendoff for one of the world’s biggest sporting events. However, this year’s formalities had something extra special on display as well: Tom Cruise.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the legendary actor and stuntman would be performing an “epic stunt” as part of the closing ceremonies.
According to reports, Cruise would rappel into Paris’ Stade de France, during the closing ceremonies. That would be followed by a pre-recorded video of Cruise skydiving onto the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles. That report is accurate now in hindsight.
Cruise, 62, is known for taking stunts to the next level, and given that Los Angeles will be hosting the 2028 Olympics, it was assumed that someone representing the city would be in attendance to take the Olympic flag, as is tradition. Here’s how the stunt went down live.
