49ers Superstar Nick Bosa Throws Ruthless Jab At PGA Star Scottie Scheffler Following His Arrest

When PGA star Scottie Scheffler got himself arrested earlier this month, the situation went exceptionally viral and garnered comments from just about everywhere from every corner of the country. Now that includes Nick Bosa.

Defensive end Nick Bosa claims that quarterback Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers and world-class golfer Scottie Scheffler have a lot in common.

Speaking to the media, Bosa praised Purdy and his leadership qualities, which helped the 49ers win the NFC Championship and the Super Bowl in consecutive February.

“I think he’s definitely getting a little more vocal within the building. I don’t think he’s ever going to change. I don’t think he’s somebody that’s going to change even when he gets paid next year. He’s a man of faith. He kind of reminds me of Scottie Scheffler — except for he didn’t get arrested,” Bosa joked at team OTAs on Wednesday about Purdy. “Just super humble, really good kid, and he’s definitely famous.”

Naturally, the witty allusion was directed towards the recent arrest of PGA Tour player Scottie Scheffler at the PGA Championship. After a traffic incident in which he is said to have knocked an officer to the ground after dragging him with his SUV, Scheffler was charged with many offenses; however, his attorney disputes this.

Bosa’s lighthearted comment emphasized his profuse admiration for Purdy’s unwavering demeanor and character, qualities that have struck a chord with teammates despite the 24-year-old’s relative lack of NFL experience.

The 49ers saw significant benefits from Purdy’s quick development in 2023. After Jimmy Garoppolo’s injury forced him into the starting lineup, the former “Mr. Irrelevant” draftee responded by shattering multiple team passing records.

Along with setting a record for the most passing yards in a season with 4,280, he also led the NFL in passer rating with 113.0 and touchdown passes with 31. Purdy also had the best touchdown percentage in football, with 7.0 and 9.6 yards per attempt.

PGA Tour golfer and defending Masters champion Scottie Scheffler is currently scheduled to appear in court on June 3.Prosecutors involved in the case are planning to publicly address the charges against the golfer on Wednesday, which is likely a possible sign that the situation could be coming to a close with the charges being dismissed.

Attorney Steve Romines will represent the golfer, who will not be on hand, according to WDRB.

Scheffler was arrested and charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and disregarding signals from an officer directing traffic.
