Team USA’s Flag Football Quarterback Calls It “Disrespectful” To Assume NFL Players Will Take The Olympic Team’s Spots In 2028

Everyone meet Darrell “Housh” Doucette. He’s the 5’7 quarterback of the United States Flag Football Team. No, he never played college or professional football, but he did win the State Bowling Championship. And listen, I’m not here to knock Housh. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times: you throw on that USA jersey, that Red White & Blue uniform, and I’m cheering for you. But what I do have one slight, teensy little issue with is Housh thinking he’s going to stand in the way of Joe Burrow, Tyreek Hill, and Christian McCaffery teaming up to play for the United States when Flag Football debuts in the Olympics in 2028.

My brother in Christ, did you see the tragedy that was the 3 on 3 team we sent to Paris? Didn’t even get up on the podium. Could’ve been Brunson, Kyrie, and Ja but it was Larry, Curly, and Moe. So no offense, but if the big dogs of the NFL want to eat in 2028 on our home turf, then we gotta let them. Or should we turn down Jalen Hurts and Ja’Marr Chase because they didn’t grind it out on the Flag Football circuit the last 10 years of their life? But here’s the thing….I do want to clear this guys name a little bit from the internet beating he’s taking. In the interview, he does say that he’ll accept it if the NFL players want to play and are better than him. His issue will be if he doesn’t even get the chance to show that they’re not.

“We just don’t think they’re going to be able to walk on the field and make the Olympic team because of the name, right?” he said. “They still have to go out there and compete.”

I have zero problem with that. I have very bad news for him if Lamar Jackson wants to play on the team, but on the surface level he’s right, they shouldn’t pick the team based on names alone. He needs to see evidence! And apparently the MVP of the NFL is not enough….

Besides, good luck to these NFL superstars when they find out that the Fake 23 Blast with a Backside George Reverse is common place in the flag football world.

“Some of the things that they do in the NFL that they call trick plays? We’re accustomed to seeing them on an everyday basis,” said Doucette.

And that’s where I lose you, Mr. Housh. The rules of the game may help you the very first time the NFL players step onto the field…..maybe. But if you think that reverses and pitches are going to make up for the fact that Tyreek Hill ran 23.34 miles per hour with the football IN PADS last year, then I got bad news for you.

**I don’t hate the idea of the NFL players who want to play in the Olympics having to beat Team USA to get there though. That would be electric and give everyone a fair shot.
