Hailey Welch was in attendance at the recent Karate Combat event after Asim Zaidi, the president of the organization, asked her to join him at KC 48.

Popularly known as the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl, Welch rose to internet stardom after a video of a man-on-the-street interview with her on Tim & Dee TV went viral. Her illustration on how to please a partner rapidly translated into the mainstream space which led to pop culture penetration and an influx of merchandise inspired by the viral sensation.

The quick ascent may have developed a feeling of resentment from some fans who seemingly perceive it as unjust or superficial. They wrote:

Welch was previously asked by the president of Karate Combat whom she’d like to challenge to a fight. The Nashville native called out singer and professional dancer JoJo Siwa for a fight and retired UFC fighter Michelle Waterson-Gomez offered to train her for the potential clash. Welch simply replied:

“Hell yeah!”

Joe Rogan reacts to Hailey Welch’s stardom

Hailey Welch’s bold and humorous viral video quickly morphed into an overnight sensation and business prospects indubitably followed. Now, the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl is selling merchandise with the catchphrase while also making public appearances at various events. Most recently, she was spotted at the Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry clash seated alongside American rapper Lil Pump.

UFC color commentator Joe Rogan and his guests, Bryan Callen, and Brendan Schaub, discussed the popularity of the video on the Joe Rogan ExperienceImpressed by the video’s far-reaching popularity, Rogan said:

“Did you see you ‘gotta hawk tuah spit on that thing’? Massive. That girl, one video, one girl gets interviewed, and it’s just… I love moments like that where one weird video… it’s so funny that the whole world sees it. She’s the most famous on the planet right now. “I wonder how much money she’s making off of this. Hopefully a lot. It is smart that she jumped right on it because you gotta think it’s only been a few days.”
