Lamar Jackson is not detered by any criticisms coming his way. The Baltimore Ravens quarterback has been critics’ favorite subject, dissecting his poor postseason performances. Add New England Patriots legend Julian Edelman to the list. However, Jackson is not concerned.
The 2x NFL MVP was a guest on Mad Dog Sports Radio on Tuesday. When asked by host Adam Schein on whether he pays attention and understands the criticism coming his way from Edelman and others, Jackson said he doesn’t care.
“I’m motivating myself, because I know what I want to do at the end of the day. You know, those guys have their time. I really don’t care what what the criticism is, what the critics say because at the end of the day, you know, I just came off a season-eding injury the the year before, and we made all the way to the AFC [Championship Game] in a new system.”
The criticism Jackson was referring to comes from Edelman, who, during Fox Sports’ NFL preseason coverage, took shots at the 2x NFL MVP and said he has “been on a milk carton in the playoffs”.
Jackson continued, explaining that he is not being down on himself and his Ravens teammates because the Ravens have made it further than the previous years.
“We haven’t been to the AFC in a long time. So we started off, we were getting closer, I’ll say that, you know, we just got to keep going. And, you know, God’s will, we’ll be there, you know, because that’s our goal.”
“I really don’t care what the criticism is, what the critics say.”

Lamar Jackson and Ravens begin redeption tour vs Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs on TNF
As great as a Lamar Jackson has been in the regular season, his playoff performances show the opposite. The Baltimore Ravens QB is 2-4 in the playoffs and is yet to reach a Super Bowl. Jackson has thrown for 1,324 yards, six touchdowns and six interceptions, with a passer rating of 75.7.
The farthest he’s reached was the AFC title game at home, which the Ravens lost to the Kansas City Chiefs last year. Jackson knows it better and the team has their eyes set on the Super Bowl.
“We criticize ourselves more than anyone else,” Jackson said on Mad Dog Sports Radio. “So what people say on the outside, that’s, that’s just their takes. And they can believe in what they want to believe, but we know we want. We know [what] we striving for.”
Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens will begin the 2024 campaign against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1 on Thursday Night Football at Arrowhead.
