The Seattle Seahawks had one of the best coaches in the NFL for almost 15 seasons. After one Super Bowl championship, Pete Carroll stepped down as the team’s head coach in 2024 and has now found himself with a new job.
Carroll has been associated with the USC football team. He coached them for almost ten seasons, leading them to a 97-19 record and two National Championships.
However, Carroll’s new job at USC won’t involve football, as far as we know. He told Sports Radio 93.3 KJR-FM that he would teach a spring class, which surprised everyone. While the class subject has yet to be confirmed, it doesn’t seem centered on football, as he isn’t sure about his plans to return to football.
Pete Carroll To Teach A Class At USC In 2025
During the radio station interview, the Super Bowl-winning former head coach told 93.3 KJR, “I’m looking forward to that,” adding, “It’s going to be a really exciting endeavor when it’s finalized and all that.”
This job may be due to some bitterness with the Seahawks. According to ESPN, Carroll has been keeping his distance from the team after parting ways. It is speculated that he may have been forced out of the head coaching job by management.
In the interview, he also mentioned that he will be advising other non-football teams, although not much is known about which teams he will be advising. He mentioned he is “excited about it because there’s more stuff to teach.”
Carroll talked to the radio station about his answer to fans’ questions about him coaching a football team again, saying, “Everybody wants to know what I’m doing and all that. Am I coaching, or what am I doing? I’m working with some really fun people and some exciting opportunities to do some really cool stuff and put things together.”
There is no doubt that if Pete Carroll decides to rejoin the NFL, many teams would absolutely love his services, and there would be a bidding war!
