The Los Angeles Lakers last won the title in the 2020 NBA season, marking the 17th championship in franchise history. The team achieved great success with a star-studded roster that included LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard, and Kyle Kuzma. While some of the stars are still playing for the Lakers, others were traded to different teams in recent years.
However, a former NBA player who was part of the 2020 Lakers championship roster recently criticized the vice president of basketball operations and the Lakers general manager for losing essential athletes from the team.
In a recent episode of the ‘Above The Rim With DH 12′ podcast, Dwight Howard, DeMarcus Cousins, and Quinn Cook discussed various topics, including revealing the truth about the 2020 Lakers’ NBA Bubble Championship. Howard blamed Rob Pelinka for breaking up the Lakers’ championship roster.
“After we won, they started tweaking the roster. I’mma tell you who it was—Rob Pelinka, man. God, Rob, why did you do that to us, man? Rob, come on, man. I still love you, Rob, but dang, man. We had the squad, bro. Even if we ran it back, we could have run it back. We would have been healthier for the next year.” Howard said.

Howard, who hilariously tried to recruit Jayson Tatum to the Taiwan League, believed that the 2020 team should have had the chance to rebuild rather than be dismantled, as the club might have been stronger and possibly more effective the following season.
Howard Unveils His GOAT Pick—And It’s Not LeBron James Or Michael Jordan
In a recent podcast, Howard was asked about his choice of the greatest basketball player of all time. Instead of selecting LeBron James or Michael Jordan, the eight-time NBA All-Star picked Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Howard, who is regarded as one of the greatest defensive players of all time, pointed out that Jabbar had an impressive stat line and achieved victory at every level of competition.
My personal 1A GOAT Kareem Abdul-Jabbar… He has the greatest stat line probably, and he should be the greatest with all the stuff he has. He won at every level; first of all, he won with two different names, didn’t he? He was the greatest Lew Alcindor in the world, but he changed his name to Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Howard said.
Jabbar had a remarkable professional career, playing 20 seasons in the NBA. He was once the all-time leading scorer, but that record was broken by LeBron James. Howard’s statement could grab the attention of NBA analysts, and it will be interesting to see their reactions.
