‘College GameDay’ viewers witnessed what was quite possibly the worst field goal attempt of all time during Pat McAfee’s challenge on Saturday.
The field goal challenge is among traditional elements of the ESPN show, with a student from the visited school being offered a chance to kick a field goal in for money and charity every week.
This Saturday’s episode took the crew to the University of South Carolina, where sophomore Joshua Watson was called to step up.
The student, who appeared to have had a few drinks in his system, would become the victim of hubris after boasting that there was nothing difficult about kicking and then pulling off the worst attempt ever from 33 yards out.
Joshua’s kick had no chance of getting close to the sticks as it went way left from the moment it left his foot. His shoe also left his foot to make matters worse.
Pat McAfee Had No Sympathy After Watching “The Worst Kick Of All Time”
“YOU’VE GOTTA EARN IT. $120,000 ON THE LINE. WORST KICK OF ALL TIME. THIS GUY SUCKS, We’ll still donate to the foundation #CollegeGameDay,” McAfee wrote as the caption to the embarrassing clip, which can be seen right below.
He totally ripped the student after the failed attempt, letting him know he sucks.

“this guy’s shoe went farther than the ball! It was entertaining though,” one fan wrote.
“We knew this was going downhill as soon as he spoke 😭😭,” another joked.
While this was not a great look for Josh, he might find that he’s a little more popular on the South Carolina campus come Monday. He will hope for some reprieve when his Gamecocks play LSU this afternoon.
Hopefully, he’s found his shoe as well.
