Texas Longhorns superstar quarterback Quinn Ewers suffered a non-contact injury in Saturday’s home game against the UTSA Roadrunners.

Per Bob Ballou of CBS Austin and Billy Gates of KXAN News, Quinn Ewers was injured during the Longhorns’ early second-quarter drive, forcing Texas to put in the highly-touted Arch Manning.

Ballou reported that Ewers began to limp after completing a 49-yard pass to Gunnar Helm, with Gates adding that Ewers had to come off after handing the ball off to running back Quintrevion Wisner.

Ballou posted photos and videos of Quinn Ewers walking off the field. You can see that Ewers is visibly upset, which naturally leads to concern that it may be a serious injury.

The ESPN cameras later showed Ewers walking to the locker room. There was no immediate update on his injury status.

On his first pass attempt in relief, Arch Manning threw a 19-yard touchdown to DeAndre Moore to put Texas up by three scores. After Robert Henry scored a touchdown for UTSA, Arch rushed for a 67-yard touchdown:

Coming into tonight’s game, Ewers had completed 69.8 percent of his pass attempts for 506 yards, six touchdowns and just one interception. He was 14-of-16 for 185 yards, two touchdowns and one interception vs. UTSA before the injury.

We’ll be sure to provide more details on Ewers’ status and condition when they become available.
