Fans are showing love and support as ESPN’s College Gameday football analyst Desmond Howard has delivered some news on a medical situation.
The former wide receiver announced having gone under the knife to have a tumor removed via an Instagram post on Monday. Howard claimed to be still in the clouds after a successful operation – we presume he means still dazed from the drugs – but ESPN declined to comment after being contacted by various publications.
“Doc said the surgery went well, the tumor was removed,” he wrote. “But as you can see, I am still in the clouds. Middle finger back in action in no time!”

Prior to that, Howard had posted a photo of himself smiling with his middle finger up.

“Happy Monday! Context is always important,” he wrote as the caption to that photo. “The nurse asked which finger are we operating on? And I responded, ‘This one.’ She gotta good laugh.”
The posts were met with an outpouring of support.
“Praying for a speedy recovery, former NBA star Juwan Howard commented.
Howard’s ESPN colleague Rece Davis said, “Middle finger is a necessary one for our set. Feel better my friend!”
“Heal up!! wishing you the best! Stay strong,” a fan wrote.
“Hang in there,” said another.
There’s nothing on how long Howard will be away from television at the moment but he seems to be in excellent spirits.
We wish him a speedy recovery.
