Georgia Southern freshman football player Tay McKibbins has tragically passed away at the age of 18 following a battle with cancer. The university’s football program confirmed his passing on Thursday, expressing condolences to his family, teammates, and the Georgia Southern community.
McKibbins, a former standout at Cass High School in Georgia, joined Georgia Southern’s football program in January. Head coach Clay Helton described him as an integral part of the team, stating, “He was taken away from us far too young, but his memory will always be etched on our hearts.”
