Well, it’s a good thing that last night’s episode of “Jeopardy!” only featured one sports category.
The popular American game show had a category titled “Hall of Famer By Position” in its double Jeopardy round. For each question, Ken Jennings would read out multiple names of legends who played the same position in a specific sport.
The leading contestant, Mason, got the first one right by answering “Quarterback”, with the hint being “Joe Namath, Joe Montana.” Unfortunately for the three contestants, the questions just got even harder from there.
Nobody was able to ring in on the second hint, “Bill Russell, Bill Walton”, both of whom were centers in the NBA. The third question, “Bob Feller, Bob Lemon, Bob Gibson” also drew silence, with Jennings humorously stating, “Baseball pitchers. This might be a long category.”
The contestants didn’t bother to ring in on the question, “Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, John Stallworth”, which every NFL fan would have gotten in a heartbeat. Unsurprisingly, the contestants also had no idea on question number five, “Gump Worsley, Shrimp Worters, Rat Westwick” (the answer was “hockey goalies.”

A diehard sports fan would have appreciated being on this episode, alright. The first four questions were especially easy for the average sports fan, after all.
Then again, the show’s entertainment value stems from the wide range of different topics. Not every trivia fanatic is going to be an expert on every single category, so let’s give these three contestants a pass.
