Lieutenant Dan is the biggest thing on the internet right now after spending Wednesday night on his tiny sailboat.
Well, you might say there’s nothing special about spending a night on a boat. But Lt. Dan did it while Hurricane Milton was battering Tampa, despite the many warnings to leave.
His internet fame prompted Adin Ross to make him a very lucrative offer. The streamer promised him a boat and a Kick deal that would have paid him $50K a month, with a signing bonus of $100K.
“I’m going to be able to pay for a boat for you. We’re going to get you a nice boat in the range of $50,000 to $100,000,” Ross told him on a live stream on Wednesday night. “And we’re going to get you a full-time Kick deal, which is a livestream deal where you can stream your entire voyages and all your adventures and you can have a passive income come in… You can livestream and connect with fans all over the world, and they can really see your adventure, man.”
“You’re giving me my life back. I’m 54 years old, and I’ve never gotten to live yet,” Lt. Dan, whose real name is Joseph Malinowski, replied. “I was satisfied with my social security disability check every month. That kept me [able to get] food and other things I might have needed. I was content with that, but I was never happy with it. I was content to be able to survive like that, but you’re giving me the opportunity to live.”

Adin Ross Pulls Out On Lieutenant Dan Deal
Fast-forward less than a day, and Ross has already reneged on the offer.
The streamer found out about Malinowski’s troubled past, which includes a prison sentence, and decided he didn’t want to be affiliated with Joe.
The Tampa resident, an amputee, was asked about Ross walking back on the deal and was not best pleased, though he claimed he didn’t care because he wasn’t the one who asked for it.
As for his past, Lieutenant Dan rightly pointed out that the streamer should have done his homework before offering him a deal.
He also claimed he was never guilty of the crime he was charged with and was wrongfully imprisoned.

While his deal with Ross has gone down the drain, Malinowski has raised over $30K via GoFundMe and is likely to make even more in the coming days.
Who knows? Someone else might make him another good offer, given his newfound fame.
