Colorado Buffaloes star quarterback Shedeur Sanders will get an additional chance to showcase his talents to NFL teams before the Scouting Combine.
Per the @ShrineBowl X/Twitter account, Shedeur Sanders has accepted an offer to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl that takes place on Jan. 30, 2025. The All-Star game will be played 10 days after the national championship, set for Jan. 20 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia (home of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons).
The East-West Shrine Bowl started in 1925, so this season’s contest marks the milestone 100-year anniversary of the big game. The West has won three straight meetings, including a 26-11 victory last season.
Shedeur Sanders is having an excellent 2024 season in Boulder, completing 72.9 percent of pass attempts for 3,222 yards, 27 touchdowns, seven interceptions and four rushing touchdowns. He needs just nine more passing yards and another touchdown to exceed last season’s totals.
The Buffaloes are 10-2 and ranked No. 16 in the nation after destroying the Utah Utes 49-24 on Saturday, extending their win streak to four. The Buffs must win out and get some help to qualify for the 12-team postseason tournament, but it’s nonetheless been a successful second year for Deion Sanders in Boulder.
Colorado will visit Kansas on Saturday before concluding the regular season at home against the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Nov. 29.
Shedeur Sanders Should Be A Top-5 NFL Draft Pick
Along with teammate and two-way superstar Travis Hunter, Shedeur Sanders is widely expected to be a top-five selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. In fact, both stand a good chance of going first overall.
Sanders and Georgia’s Carson Beck headline a deep quarterback class featuring Texas’ Quinn Ewers, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe and Miami’s Cameron Ward, assuming all of them declare for the draft.
With the way he’s playing, though, don’t be surprised if Sanders ends up being the No. 1 selection.
