Thomas became extremely famous when she used to document her day-to-day life in the Alpha Phi sorority at the University of Alabama.

Back in 2023, Thomas spoke to Daily Mail and revealed that she was actually kicked out of the group after other members deemed her a ‘liability’ because she was popular on social media.

For those unaware, it costs $8,000 a year to join, so this was an expensive decision.

Sydney Thomas stated that her social media presence meant that people knew who she was before she arrived at the university. She essentially became more famous than all the other girls.

As a result of her increased celebrity status, older girls in the sorority would slam her as being a ‘liability’ for the reputation of their sorority.

In the end, Thomas came out as the winner in it all.
