Mina Kimes is one of the NFL analysts in the industry. She is currently an analyst at ESPN, which is considered one of, if not the top brand in sports media. Not only is she an on-air analyst, but she also hosts two podcasts.
Kimes has been with ESPN since 2014. She first joined the sports megabrand as a member of their magazine journalist team, and since then, she has worked her way up to the aforementioned podcasting gigs and the TV analyst gig as well.
However, it now seems that her job may be in a bit of jeopardy after some recent comments she made political comments at the expense of the Department of Defense when they removed and then restored a website that was a tribute to former baseball legend Jackie Robinson.
“So ESPN and others reported today that the Department of Defense amidst an ongoing effort to purge government mentions of diversity, equity and inclusion removed a website honoring Jackie Robinson’s military service. It has since been restored,” said Kimes.
Mina Kimes Under Fire Amid Heated Comments

“Look, Jackie Robinson was known for many things but above all, first and foremost, it was his ongoing courage in the face of racial discrimination,” she said before adding, “In fact, in addition to crossing the color barrier in baseball, he served in a segregated unit in the army and in one instance refused to move to the back of the bus, was arrested and aquited. That matters.”
She finished off by saying, “history cannot be erased, it cannot be undone and it must be recognized to fully understand and recognize his legacy,” and fans are now calling for her to be fired after the heated comments.
“ESPN is woke, that is why I stopped watching,” said one user.
“Shut down woke ESPN,” added another.
“Fire her she hates half the country,” said one fan.
“She’s the prototypical DEI hire, get rid of her,” added another user.
While fans may be calling for her head right now, there is no evidence that ESPN is considering firing the analyst.
