Michael Vick is now a head football coach.
According to David Teal and Michael Saul of the Virginian-Pilot, Vick has agreed to become the head coach at Norfolk State, a position that was left vacant after the school fired Dawson Adams.
The deal is done: Michael Vick is Norfolk State’s next head football coach. Would not be surprised if his staff has a #Hokies flavor. https://t.co/wEZDsqbxJM

Vick has no prior coaching experience, but he is familiar with the area as someone from Newport News, Virgina, which should help him recruit players.
The Norfolk State football program has been in the gutter for some time and are hoping an outside-the-box hire like Michael Vick can help turn this program around.
Vick, the former No. 1 overall pick, will bring notoriety to the program. Teel and Sauls noted Vick has already reached out to possible assistant coaches with some of them “likely” to be names that are “familiar to fans.”
