Eight Players Were Ejected And Referee Was Bloodied After Brawl During East Carolina-NC State Military Bowl

All hell broke loose in the Military Bowl between NC State and East Carolina.

In the final minute of East Carolina’s 26-21 win over NC State, the two teams got into a full-fledged brawl that led to eight ejections and a referee that was bloodied.

Three players for ECU and five for NC State were ejected. Here’s how it all went down:

As for the game itself, East Carolina opened the game with a 20-7 run, but saw NC State battle back in the fourth quarter, taking a 21-20 lead. The Pirates answered with an 86-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter to take a 26-21 lead in the final minutes before the brawl sparked.

In the end, East Carolina won the in-state battle and were crowned champions of the Military Bowl. Unfortunately the lasting image from the game won’t have anything to do with players from either team.
