Social media is coming down hard on LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy following reports of an arrest warrant being put out in his name on a charge of negligent homicide.

Lacy, a projected first-round pick, is accused of killing former U.S. Marine Herman Hall in a December 17 traffic accident and leaving the scene.

He declared for the NFL Draft just two days later.

A video of the controversial firearm celebration that earned him multiple penalties last season has resurfaced online following news of the arrest warrant.

“Killed a man then declared for NFL draft 2 days later,” the NFL Notifications account posted via X as a caption to said clip.

“This was a sign,” a user replied in the comments.

“He’s going to jail or to Pittsburgh,” someone else suggested.

“Little unfair to say he killed a man. Report says he tried to pass on a two lane highway and the oncoming traffic swerved into incoming traffic,” a user pointed out. “Horrible for leaving the scene tho.”

Kyren Lacy Facing Three Serious Charges

According to Lousiana State Police, per the Washington Times, Lacy was driving a 2023 Dodge Charge going southbound on Louisiana Highway 20 in Lafourche Parish on the aforementioned date and illegally crossed the centerline into the northbound lane to overtake other traffic.

His actions caused the driver of a northbound pickup to brake and maneuver right. A Kia Cadenza swerved to avoid Lacy’s vehicle but hit a Kia Sorento in which Hall was the passenger. The 78-year-old was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Lacy is accused of driving away without stopping to call for help or help others at the scene. He also failed to report his involvement in the crash.

The former Tigers wideout is facing charges of negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless operation of a vehicle, with a warrant put out for his arrest. Police have contacted his legal representatives to find out when he will turn himself in.
