Jason Kelce just couldn’t help himself.
The older Kelce brother was at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday with the rest of the ESPN Countdown crew before Kansas City Chiefs‘ divisional round playoff game against the Houston Texans.
And Scott Van Pelt couldn’t help but poke fun at Jason over his outfit compared to Travis Kelce wearing shorts during warmups.
“So it’s the story of two brothers. They grew up in the same house. One of them is out here dressed up like Yukon Cornelius, the other is out here in shorts,” Van Pelt said. “Was Travis always the kid in the neighborhood that was crazy out there in shorts?”
“He was the crazy guy,” Jason replied. “I think we both were pretty reckless whenever the snow was falling in Cleveland.
However, that must have sparked a childhood memory for Jason, who told a hilarious story about Travis
“He also told the entire block that his name was Charles because his favorite basketball player was Charles Barkley. We found out at a block party because all the other parents were like, ‘there goes Charles,’ Jason recalled. “That’s the kind of kid Travis was. He was always living up to all his sports idols for sure.”
For the minutes to follow, the entire Countdown crew kept referring to Travis as Charles.
Now we just need to hear Charles Barkley’s reaction to this one.
