10-year-old Philadelphia Eagles fan Trey Howard has stolen the heart of America.
Howard, a ten-year-old boy from Philadelphia, has won hearts with his heroic gesture as he jumped to save his four-year-old sister during the deadly plane crash.
Days after the nation was still in shock over an American Airlines passenger jet colliding with a Black Hawk helicopter and killing 67 people, another scary scene would play out in Philly.
A medical transport jet crashed in Northeast Philadelphia and killed seven people while injuring 24 others.
One person was killed on the ground while the six others were on that jet.
It could’ve been much worse if not for Trey Howard.
Howard is one of the survivors despite being seriously injured by flying debris.
The 10-year-old boy is still making a “miraculous” recovery after protecting his younger sister from the flying debris.
Trey’s dad, Andre Howard Jr., says he was struck in the head with metal and was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he underwent brain surgery.
The young boy’s family was informed that there “was a strong chance he might not survive.”
Miraculously, he woke up, and the first words from Trey Howard were about his sister.
“He asked me, ‘Daddy, what’s today?’ I was like, ‘Monday.’ ‘OK, wait. We didn’t play yesterday did we?’ ‘No, you didn’t miss the Super Bowl,’” Andre said.
Here is how everyone reacted to him:
“@nflcommish, get this kid to the Super Bowl,” one fan said.
Dear @NFL, @Eagles, and @Chiefs: Give this kid and his family tickets to the Super Bowl NOW. Sincerely, Everyone,” another fan added.
“Private jet to New Orleans for this sweet kid and his family, tickets to the game, hotel, meals, and set up a meet and greet with the E A G L E S!!!! Wouldn’t that be great?” another fan stated.
“All I can say is GOD IS GOOD! @Eagles better hook this family up with Super Bowl tickets or something,” one fan said of Trey Howard and his family.
One final fan added: “This kid most likely cannot travel to the Super Bowl days after brain surgery but the NFL and the Eagles need to do something special for him. Very happy to hear of his progress. Prayers for him and his family.”
