NFL fans were fearful that the Super Bowl would be canceled after a scary threat was issued on Saturday evening.
A powerful magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck the Caribbean Sea about 129 miles south-southwest of the Cayman Islands at 5:23 PM, prompting tsunami warnings for all coastlines in the region.
Authorities were working to determine whether the threat could spread higher into the Gulf of Mexico and potentially impact the Gulf Coast, which would have been a worry for New Orleans, where Super Bowl 59 is being held tonight.
