The White House has offered an explanation amid concerns over the health of President Donald Trump following the discovery of a strange, brown bruise on his right hand.
Trump met with French President Emmanuel Macron earlier this week, and folks would notice that his right hand was badly discolored.
The observation sparked much speculation online, with many asking questions and others simply concerned for the President’s well-being.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has since explained the bruising spotted on Trump’s hands, claiming it’s due to the number of hands he shakes every day.
“President Trump is a man of the people and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other president in history,” Leavitt said.
“His commitment is unwavering and he proves that every single day.”
“President Trump has bruises on his hand because he’s constantly working and shaking hands all day every day,” she added in a follow-up statement.
Social Media Isn’t Ready To Believe Donald Trump’s Bruise Is The Result Of Shaking Several Hands A Day

It’s safe to say that Americans are not buying her explanation. Plenty of them have accused the press secretary of lying about the reason behind the bruise as they believe it’s the result of frequent IV punctures.
“Why even lie? It’s obviously an IV bruise for blood testing or something. Is it a surprise to people that Trump is old and gets regular physician visits?” someone wrote online.
“The White House just said the mysterious makeup-covered bruise on Trump’s right hand is because he is ‘shaking hands all day every day’. Yeah, no. Nope. Turns out we’re not nearly that stupid,” another commented.
“That’s a BULLS**T story. NOBODY shakes hands that hard/often & gets bruising. He’s getting an IV drip for something, he is NOT WELL. He’s taking blood thinners for an undisclosed illness. My hands do the same if I get poked with a needleesp if they can’t find a good vein
,” said a third.
Meanwhile, Trump has not addressed the matter himself and is thought to be unlikely to.
