Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver and fan favorite Mecole Hardman is taking his talents to Titletown.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Mecole Hardman has signed a one-year contract with the Green Bay Packers. Aside from a short-lived tenure with the New York Jets in 2023, Hardman has spent his entire career with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Hardman joins a Packers offense that has lacked a true No. 1 receiver since the Davante Adams trade with the Las Vegas Raiders three years ago. Their leading pass-catcher of 2024, Jayden Reed, finished with 55 catches for 857 yards and six touchdowns.
The Chiefs drafted Mecole Hardman in the second round (56th overall) in 2019. The Georgia speedster helped the Chiefs to five Super Bowl appearances and three Lombardi Trophies, catching the game-winning touchdown from Patrick Mahomes in overtime of Super Bowl 58 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Hardman had his best statistical season in 2021, when he caught 59 passes for 693 yards and two touchdowns. Playing a secondary role on a star-studded KC offense, Hardman eclipsed the 500-yard mark three times.
After four years with the Chiefs, Hardman signed with the Jets in 2023 free agency. He caught just one pass in five games and was sent back to the Chiefs ahead of the deadline en route to a third Super Bowl title.
For his career, Mecole Hardman has 178 receptions for 2,302 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Mecole Hardman Could Get A Larger Role In Green Bay

Since the Packers don’t have a true No. 1 receiver, the speedy Hardman could very well enjoy a career year in Matt LaFleur’s offense. Reed, Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs are a nice trio for Jordan Love to work with, but none of them are close to Pro Bowl-caliber.
So don’t be surprised if Hardman ends up enjoying a career year in Green Bay.
