Superstar NCAA Quarterback Arrested On Serious Charges, Suspended By Team

The Tulane Green Wave football team has suspended quarterback T.J. Finley following news of his arrest.

According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, Tulane suspended T.J. Finley “indefinitely” after he was arrested in New Orleans for possessing stolen items. Per Rittenberg, the Green Wave said that the length of Finley’s suspension depends on the results of his legal case.

Rittenberg reports that Finley was in possession of a truck that university police investigated for blocking a driveway. Finley told officers that he purchased the truck, reportedly worth over $25,000. After looking into the matter, police discovered that it Tulane’s new truck was reported as stolen.

For what it’s worth, Finley shared an Instagram story with the captions “don’t believe everything you hear” and “I’ll be back.”

T.J. Finley, who turned 23 years of age last week, was a standout quarterback at Ponchatoula High School in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana. He committed to the LSU Tigers’ football program and spent one season there before transferring to Auburn.

The towering 6-foot-7 quarterback saw limited action in two seasons at Auburn, so he again transferred. Finley went to Texas State and got his first look as a starting quarterback, completing 67.4 percent of pass attempts for 3,439 yards, 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
