The Boston Red Sox are not having a great start to the 2025 season, but things got better on Tuesday.
Roman Anthony’s second MLB game went better than his first. And it helped lead the Red Sox to a 3-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
Anthony went 0-for-4 with an RBI and an error in his MLB debut on Monday.
On Tuesday, Anthony wasted little time as he swung and sent a line drive down the left-field line that rolled to the outfield wall. He would drive in two runs.
Anthony reached second for a go-ahead double on his first MLB hit. It’s not a bad way to start the career highlight reel.
Unfortunately for him, one female Boston Red Sox fan would steal the show.
Anthony’s family was on hand for the milestone, including his father, Anthony Anthony, his brother, Anthony Anthony Jr., and his uncle, who is also named Anthony.
As cameras panned to the proud family by the Red Sox dugout, the spotlight shifted from Roman’s second night in the big leagues to his 22-year-old sister, Lia Anthony.
Boston Red Sox fans, as well as the rest of the country, went insane.

“I’d like to be the first to welcome Roman Anthony’s sister to Boston!” one fan said.
“Hello Roman Anthony sister, is this your first time in Boston? I know many great spots to go!” a second fan added.
“No comment (everyone knows the comment I would make holy fuck) I respect Roman Anthony and his sister (if I did have a comment it would mean probably be holy fuck what a rocket, but I have no comment) no taking questions at this time, thank you,” a third fan wrote.
“Roman Anthony gets his first hit in the show and his sister is trending on Twitter. What a life,” one fan said of the Boston Red Sox rookie.
“Hey @RedSox what do we say we keep Roman Anthony and his sister around?” one final fan commented.
