Jay Cutler is receiving the consequences of his own actions.

In 2024, the former Chicago Bears quarterback was thrown into a Tennessee jail after he was caught driving while intoxicated. He was also found to have a gun.

After a minor traffic collision, he was observed showing signs of intoxication, and officers found a loaded pistol and a rifle in his vehicle.

The driver of the other vehicle at the time told responding authorities that Cutler “attempted to flee the scene after offering him $2,000 if he did not call the Police.”

Now, Jay Cutler is finding out his punishment.

The 12-year NFL veteran was in a Franklin courtroom on Tuesday to take a plea deal in his DUI case. A Williamson County judge accepted a guilty plea, per TMZ.

Cutler is required to pay a $350 fine and serve 4 days at the Williamson County Jail beginning on September 29. In that plea deal, he must also be on unsupervised probation for one year and attend a DUI safety class. His Tennessee license was also revoked.

Kristin Cavallari Previously Addressed Jay Cutler’s Arrest

Jay Cutler is headed to jail after taking a plea deal in his DUI case.

Last year, his ex-wife, Kristin Cavallari, broke her silence on his arrest.

The “Very Cavallari” star noted at the time that the episode was recorded before a “very public incident happened last week with my ex-husband.”

“I do, of course, wish Jay nothing but the best, and I do hope that he gets the help that he needs,” she said.

“But that’s the only thing I will be saying about it publicly.”

Cavallari and Jay Cutler married in 2013 and announced their split in 2020. They share three children.

Cavallari announced her split from Cutler in 2020.

Cutler retired from the NFL for good after the 2017 season. He initially retired in May 2017 but returned months later as a member of the Dolphins. After that season, he retired for a second time.
