Boyz II Men were lucky that controversy broke out between the Eagles and Cowboys because it made many people forget how they sounded during the pregame.

The 4-time Grammy Winners have performed at Lincoln Financial Field a number of times, but it’s been a while since they had the opportunity to do so again in front of thousands.

In the days leading up to the game, the group sent a strong message on social media.

Philly, it doesn’t get bigger than this. Opening night. Prime time. Cowboys vs. Eagles.

And we’ve got the honor of singing the anthem right here at home. Let’s make some noise, Philadelphia!” the group said in a message on social media before the game.

The moment appeared to be much bigger than they thought because not many people enjoyed their rendition of the National Anthem.

“We all just gonna pretend this didn’t happen. We all got bad days. Thankfully a player spit on a QB and everyone forgot that quick,” one fan said.

“Out of tune, oddly and almost purposely 🤔,” a second fan wrote.

“Not sure what was happening but this did not sound good. I love Boys to Men but not good,” a third person added.

“Straight trash to listen to,” a fourth person commented.

Eagles-Cowboys Controversy Made Fans Forget About Boyz II Men’s Performance

Jalen Carter helped out Boyz II Men more than he knows after he was caught spitting on the chest of Dak Prescott. He would soon get ejected from the game.

The game came to a screeching halt in the third quarter due to severe weather in the area.

In the midst of coming back, footage would soon show that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott spat in the general direction of the Eagles’ defensive huddle.

It would turn out to be a huge thing that somewhat overshadowed an incredible back-and-forth contest between two hated rivals in the NFC East.

Luckily, Boyz II Men came out happy as their Eagles would win the game.
