Whoopi Goldberg and the rest of the panel on ‘The View’ took turns hitting out at the woman now known around America as Phillies “Karen” for her distasteful actions at the Phillies-Marlins game on Friday night.

Strangely enough, the internet hasn’t been able to identify the woman, who still walks freely among us, but we don’t imagine that will continue for much longer. One person who was wrongly identified has since broken her silence, ruling herself out.

The female Phillies fan caused a massive stir over the weekend after videos showed her marching right up to a man who had secured a home run ball that sailed into the stands of Harrison Bader’s bat in the fourth inning and demanding it, claiming he had taken it from her hand.

Whoopi Goldberg Makes An Obvious Point

Whoopi and company returned from their summer break on Monday and had a few things to say about the viral incident.

“Five people were vying for this ball,” the actress said. “He’s the one that got it. You’re not entitled to it just because it was in your section. What’s wrong with you?”

Sunny Hostin suggested that if the father in question had been someone else or had the boy’s mother been approached, things would have played out differently.

“And by the way, I’m not a proponent of violence or anything, but she’s really lucky that that dad was like, ‘Just go away,’” Hostin said, “because she catches the mom or the wrong person and you’re not getting the ball back!

“You’ll get the ball back, but not where you’d like it to be,” Goldberg claimed.

As noted above, Phillies “Karen” hasn’t yet been identified. But many people want to know who she is, following what she did on Friday.

She’s since been named in a rumor claiming she was recently involved in a previous theft, though it’s unlikely to be true, given the circumstances described.
