Squirrel White avoided serious injury and likely death when fans stormed the field after Florida State University lost to Virginia on Friday night.

The FSU wide receiver, whose real name is Marquarius, was still lying on the field when Cavaliers supporters stampeded onto the playing area after an attempt to tie things up in the dying embers.

Quarterback Thomas Castellanos was looking to find the receiver in the end zone for a score that would have left the Seminoles down by two, offering them a chance for a two-point conversion.

Despite getting the drop on his defender, White was unable to complete the play as the ball was underthrown.

The upset prompted an instant field storm, which is now said to be the fastest and craziest of all time. White hardly had time to get up and would disappear under a sea of fans, who trampled him with little consideration as they ran onto the field.

Squirrel White Rumored To Be Dead After Field Storm

Squirrel White was an on-field player, which meant he would have had all of his gear on, and it probably saved his life.

He was somehow able to walk away from the incident, though there were claims circulating around social media suggesting he had been killed, which follows reports of a Seminoles player being shot late last month.

As you can see, that was definitely not the case.

The 46-38 victory saw Virginia improve to 4-1, while Florida State suffered their first defeat of the season and are 3-1.
