Donald Trump’s advisor has accused Bad Bunny of hating America.

The Puerto Rican rapper has been chosen as the Super Bowl Halftime Show performer for 2026 in a move considered to be highly controversial. His remarks regarding ICE are particularly troubling, while the 31-year-old also took a direct shot at Trump during the 2024 U.S. presidential election campaign.

“I will never forget what Donald Trump did and what he did not do when Puerto Rico needed a caring and a competent leader,” he said back then.

Trump, who takes a keen interest in sports and attends most of the major events, responded to Team Europe calling him out after winning the Ryder Cup. His attention has since been diverted to Bad Bunny ahead of Super Bowl 60, slamming the NFL for its decision.

The POTUS also confirmed reports of ICE agents being in attendance at the Super Bowl following the performer voicing concerns over officers waiting to snatch people up at his shows.

Bunny said he would make an exception for the big game after staying away from America on his tour out of concern for his fans, although he’s not an illegal immigrant himself.

Trump advisor Corey Lewandowski spoke about the situation this week, lashing out at the NFL for selecting Bad Bunny.

“There is nowhere you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else. We will find you and apprehend you and put you in a detention facility and deport you. Know that is a very real situation under this administration, which is contrary to how it used to be,” he said.

Lewandowski also accused the Puerto Rican of hating America.

“It’s so shameful they’ve decided to pick somebody who seems to hate America so much to represent them at the Halftime Show… If there are illegal aliens, I don’t care if it’s a concert for Johnny Smith or Bad Bunny or anybody else. We’re going to do enforcement everywhere. We are going to make Americans safe. That is a directive from the president. If you’re in this country illegally, go home.”

“They’ll be there to deport him on live TV around the world,” someone wrote in the comments as panic spread.

“I hope ICE can tell the difference between someone from “Puerto Rico” and an actual Illegal immigrant!” another pointed out.

“That’s wild—Lewandowski basically turning the Super Bowl halftime show into an ICE sting op announcement,” said a third.

NFL executive Jon Barker claimed that Bad Bunny was chosen because he’s one of the most influential artists in the world and was a natural choice.

Jay-Z, who is in charge of selection, branded the rapper a pioneer.

“What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage,” the Roc Nation founder said.
