A woman who has gone viral as “Brewers Karen” has seemingly lost her job after launching an alleged racist tirade during an MLB game.
The incident, which took place during Tuesday’s game at American Family Field, has allegedly led to the woman being fired from her job, banned from the stadium, and publicly called out by organizations she was affiliated with.
“Call ICE” Comment Caught on Camera as Dodgers Fan Cheered
The confrontation unfolded after Dodgers player Kike Hernandez hit a home run in the 7th inning, putting Los Angeles ahead 4-1.
Ricardo Fosado, a Dodgers supporter attending the game during a work trip to Chicago, stood and cheered in the mostly Brewers crowd. In his cellphone video, he is seen asking: “Why is everyone so quiet?”
That’s when the woman, later identified as Shannon Kobylarczyk, can be heard shouting from behind him: “Real men drink beer, (expletive).”
Moments later, she nudges the person next to her and adds: “You know what, let’s call ICE.”
Fosado, visibly stunned in the video, replies: “ICE is not going to do nothing to me.” He adds: “Good luck… call ICE. Call them.”
He later clarified to CBS LA that he is a U.S. citizen and Navy veteran who served in two wars.
Kobylarczyk Fired from ManpowerGroup, Resigns from Make-A-Wish
The viral clip triggered a wave of backlash, and Kobylarczyk, who worked as a lawyer for ManpowerGroup in Milwaukee, has since reportedly lost her job. The staffing company confirmed she is “no longer with the organization,” per The Sun.
She also resigned from the Board of Directors at Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, which issued a statement condemning her behavior: “Make-A-Wish Wisconsin does not condone nor agree with Kobylarczyk’s words and actions.”
Her departure from both roles came shortly after the video gained widespread attention online, where many users labeled her a “Karen”—a term commonly used to describe entitled behavior among middle-class white women.
Both Fans Banned from American Family Field After Altercation
The incident didn’t just cost Kobylarczyk her jobs—it also got both her and Fosado banned from American Family Field.
A spokesperson for the Milwaukee Brewers told Yahoo: “The Brewers expect all persons attending games to be respectful of each other, and we do not condone in any way offensive statements fans make to each other about race, gender, or national origin.
“Our priority is to ensure that all in attendance have a safe and enjoyable experience at the ballpark.”
Despite the ban, Fosado told CBS that he felt welcomed by Brewers fans for most of the game. He said fans were “cheering for their team,” and when the Dodgers made a comeback, he cheered for his.
Fosado said Kobylarczyk’s “call ICE” comment didn’t hit him right away: “It didn’t really click,” he said, “but after I processed it, it stung a little bit.”
Still, he later said that after learning she had lost her job, “he does feel bad for her and hopes she can get it back.”
Fosado Opens Up About Military Service and Going Viral
In an interview with CBS LA, Fosado said he’s been overwhelmed by the viral reaction to the video. He explained that he was in Milwaukee after driving from a work trip in Chicago just to catch the game.
He also reflected on his past service, sharing that he joined the military after 9/11, just after graduating high school.
He served four years before being honorably discharged from the Navy in 2005.
Speaking to Fox affiliate KTTV-TV, he added that the incident exposed more than just a row at a ballgame: “Kobylarczyk showed her true colors”, he said.
