Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups and Heat guard Terry Rozier have been arrested after an investigation into illegal gambling.

On Thursday morning, FBI Director Kash Patel held a press conference announcing charges against them and others.

If you were watching ESPN, you would think that the Worldwide Leader in Sports was trying to hide something.

While Mike Greenberg briefly discussed the story this morning on Get Up, the network’s ticker shockingly removed an advertisement for ESPN Bet in the middle of his report.

They may be trying to distance themselves from being part of this new gambling craze, but the damage is already done, as many lives have been damaged and will be forever changed because it has been made way too easy to bet on sports.

What Are Chauncey Billups & Terry Rozier Being Accused of?

Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups, Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier, and former NBA player Damon Jones were arrested Thursday over their alleged participation in two major illegal gambling schemes.

It is the biggest story of the opening days of the NBA season.

Social media has certainly been buzzing, even unveiling a compilation video that proves Rozier may have been gambling.

One indictment involved a scheme to place bets on NBA games based on non-public information, including a player planning to pull himself out of a game due to injury or illness.

Rozier and Jones would pass along confidential information in exchange for some of the proceeds. The indictment highlights seven games in 2023 and 2024.

Billups and Jones are being charged for allegedly taking part in illegal high-stakes poker games operated by organized crime.

The NBA released a statement on Thursday afternoon that both Rozier and Billups were being placed on “immediate leave” from the Heat and Blazers.
