BREAKING: Jake Paul Reportedly Banned From Boxing

Jake Paul’s jaw will get the rest is badly needs.

Jake Paul has been hit with an automatic suspension after losing via technical knockout to Anthony Joshua on Friday night.

The two-time heavyweight world champion defeated Jake Paul with relative ease in Friday night’s highly anticipated clash. As if losing in dominant fashion wasn’t hard enough, Paul had to be taken to the hospital with a fractured jaw.

And if that wasn’t already enough on his plate? The YouTube star will also have to serve a suspension because of rules from the Florida Athletic Commission, which sanctioned the fight.

As noted by Etienne Fermie of The Sun, Jake Paul has been suspended for a minimum of 60 days. The reason? FAC rules automatically ban a fighter who loses via knockout:

“The Miami fight was sanctioned by the Florida Athletic Commission (FAC).

And FAC rules dictate that boxers that have been knocked out must be banned from competition for at least 60 days. Should the knockout be considered particularly brutal, this number could be extended.”

Someone as competitive and fiery as Paul might want to get back into the ring to make up for his brutal defeat. But with his jaw needing ample time to recover, a suspension isn’t the worst thing.

Jake Paul Suffered The Second Loss Of His Professional Boxing Career

Paul’s loss to Anthony Joshua marked only the second defeat in his career as a professional. This was also Paul’s first loss via knockout. His first defeat came at the hands of Tommy Fury via split decision on Feb. 26, 2023.

Jake Paul went on to win his next six fights, including a victory over the legendary Mike Tyson on Nov. 15 of last year. But it wasn’t to be against Joshua, whose greater size and experience proved to be way too much for the YouTube sensation.

Paul has fought five times since 2024. It’ll be interesting to see how long he waits until setting up his next showdown. It’s safe to say that he won’t want to face another world champion boxer next time, though.
